We love Batsto and I only wish we were able to get there more often. It's such a beautiful place to visit whether for a picnic or for the entire day. I feel that there is so much potential and that, as well as it is run, there is much more room to utilize the facility more. The annual country living fair is one of our favorite events and we all look forward to it year after year.
Awesome place to visit! It is very beautiful and a pleasure to walk around. Miles of trails to walk and the lake is beautiful. Has a nice small nature center and the information center has been remodeled and it’s really informative and helpful. The gift shop has some cool items and the Mansion is with the cost.
This is a great place to go for a hike, bike ride, or just walk around the historic village. There are several hiking and biking trails to choose from. The hiking trails are relatively flat and easy. The village is nice to walk around. Parking is free during the off season!
Fantastic tour of the Mansion led by Sean. Always has been one of my favorite New Jersey state parks. I've been going there for almost 50 years. Except for summer months parking is free. Sadly the Old Sawmill was damaged in a storm about five years ago and is no longer functioning. Hopefully they will fix it sometime in the future after Governor Christie leaves office.
Great little historic site hidden in Central New Jersey. There is a lot of building to look through on the grounds. Old historic village with residences, a general store, stables, blacksmith, watermill, sawmill and old mansion. You are free to walk throughout the village and into the buildings. All of which are open or at least gated off to look through. Fantastic scenic view of the lake from the land bridge.
